The International Society for Child and Adolescent Injury Prevention (ISCAIP)

Injury is a major cause of child and adolescent death and disability throughout the world.
International experience has shown that injuries are not accidents. Injuries and deaths can be prevented, often by simple, available measures.
In 1993, injury specialists, researchers, policy makers, educators, medical personnel and advocates established The International Society for Child and Adolescent Injury Prevention (ISCAIP) to improve the global dialogue and action for preventing and controlling child and adolescent injuries.
ISCAIP's objectives:

  • Provide a multidisciplinary forum for global dialogue
  • Assist in providing advocacy at national and international levels
  • Foster national and international injury prevention initiatives
  • Stimulate the translation of research findings into programs and policies
  • Facilitate collaborative and interdisciplinary international research

The Society promotes the exchange of ideas, science, and experience among members to facilitate international collaborations, activities, and seminars on research, programming, and policy and addresses both intentional and unintentional injuries.
